My adventures around a foreign city.
Osaka was like Tokyo, but for the coolest of kids.
A week spent in Kyoto, which took only an hour by bullet train from Tokyo. Did you know that Kyoto is spelt by rearranging the letters in Tokyo?
As a young and naive traveller at the mere age of 17, I took a trip down to the Coté d'Azur, the Mediterranean coastline of the southeast corner of France, home to Monaco, Cannes, Nice and many other exotic seaside locations.
I arrived in the late afternoon, dumped my luggage at a Chinese restaurant (the only one in Cannes) and set about, exploring with my camera in hand. Apart from a few other travellers alike, the bulk of the town would easily fit into the ageing population. I smelt the sea from a mile away and followed my nose, past the promenade and the patisseries to find the sun hitting the sea so delicately.
Take a look through my eye.
AVOCA BEACH, AUSTRALIA
Typically, the beaches along the Central Coast see more sun than most of the land in Sydney; an explanation for the naturally golden tan of the locals. This held true for the time I spent there last week with my family, except for one gloomy morning in the middle of the week. On that day, I took out the little Ricoh GR pocket camera a friend of mine recently lent me, and I snapped away, testing its limits. The product was this moody black and white series, presenting an alternate impression of summer lovin'.
If you take a liking to this series, I may post some shots from warmer days.
AVOCA BEACH, AUSTRALIA
These are some snaps from a little family holiday up the Central Coast to a little beach by the name of Avoca.
For 10 consecutive summers starting back in 1994 we travelled up to Avoca with the extended family. These were the times of The Lion King, So Fresh Hits, Pipi picking and French cricket.
This year our trip was a little different. 10 years down the track re-visiting this old place. It was loads of fun, but everything seems so much smaller!
BYRON BAY, AUSTRALIA
A bundle of snaps taken in Byron Bay during the New Years turnover period of 2012-2013. Byron is known for it awesome surf, great weather, bouncing crowds and yet I somehow managed to capture it's very quiet and tranquil side.
